We arrived at the hospital and from the second that we made it to Doug’s room, a barrage of nurses fought for Doug’s attention.

The transplant coordinator came into the room and said that most parents and syblings match on about 3 of 6 criteria. Izaak, she said, matches on 3 maybe 4 levels, which means that this is freaky and amazing.
